Cheryle Roma-Beatty
Stix &erio; piedras
The continuous thread throughout Cheryle’s work is the element of “non-repetitious repetition” which she uses to explore the dynamics of pattern, rhythm and movement. In the series Sticks & Stones, Cheryle utilizes irregular, linear elements, marching or dancing rhythmically across the picture plane, sometimes breaking into a chaotic, avalanche against the serenity of a tranquil backdrop. The contrast of the energy of the linear pattern against form suggests a dialogue between movement and stillness.
